Yahoo! Japan's data analysis platform use the "Open Networking Solution" that combines hardware and OS appropriate for the application.

On April 25, 2019, CTC announced that it provided Yahoo! Japan's data analysis platform with an "Open Networking Solution" that combines hardware and OS appropriate for the application. Yahoo! Japan has been using the new network since March 2019 and has begun operating the analysis platform. Open networking is a technology that allows flexible network construction without depending on the proprietary technology of a specific manufacturer by combining hardware and OS appropriate for the application. In this solution, the hardware adopts the "Backpack" chassis-type switch based on the Open Compute Project (OCP) specification and the Edgecore Networks open networking data center switch -  "AS5812-54T".

The network operating system is the Linux-based Cumulus Linux from Cumulus Networks. The network consists of a highly scalable and highly available IP Clos network, on which VXLAN, a technology that virtually realizes Layer 2 communication, has been implemented. By adopting a Linux-based network OS, it is possible to use open source software (OSS) operation tools to streamline and automate network operations. In addition, by deploying a data center network design introduced by a major OTT company in the United States, network bandwidth was used effectively and a highly scalable network was realized.
