Edgecore Networks introduces indoor 11ac dual-band enterprise access point with adaptive MIMO smart antenna technology, designed for high-noise environments
The ECW5212 802.11ac Dual-Band Standalone Access Point offers one GE port with PoE support for flexible installation and A-MIMO smart antennas for better coverage in high density and noisy places, like airports, shopping malls, and chain stores.
Hsinchu, Taiwan, July 19, 2016 – Edgecore Networks, a leading provider of traditional and open network solutions for enterprises, data centers and telecommunication service providers, today announced the ECW5212 802.11ac indoor enterprise access point with advanced A-MIMO smart antenna technology with internal 2x2 MIMO 10 element antenna array for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. The ECW5212 is an ideal solution for hotspot and business owners to improve their wireless coverage and services in such environments with high density and noisy wireless clients.
The ECW5212 supports 802.3af PoE, which enables the AP to be powered remotely by a PoE switch and eases the product installation in locations such as retail and hospitality, while an AC adaptor is included if PoE is not available. Depending on the users’ indoor environment, the device can be ceiling or wall mounted. Through its adaptive-MIMO smart antenna array, which can create up to 512 pattern combinations per band that steer peaks and nulls over hemispherical coverage area, the ECW5212 significantly improves coverage and throughput at the network edge and also increases interference rejection. This results in a stable wireless network with consistent air-link quality and automatically-improved connection reliability.
