Edgecore Networks Introduces the AS5835 Series - High-performance 10G/100G Top-of-Rack (TOR) or Spine Data Center Switch for Enterprise and Cloud Data Centers
Edgecore Networks, the leading provider of traditional and open network solutions for enterprises, data centers, and telecommunication service providers, is pleased to announce its newest AS5835 series - High-performance 10G/100G Top-of-Rack (TOR) or Spine switch for enterprise and cloud data centers.
The AS5835 series provides full line-rate switching at Layer 2 or Layer 3 across 48 x 10GbE ports and 6 x 100GbE uplinks. The 100G uplinks enable the high data throughput and low latencies necessary for evolving enterprise, hyper-scale data center, and campus networks. The hot swappable 5+1 redundant fan modules and redundant AC or -48 VDC PSUs enhance the overall switch stability and reliability.
The AS5835 series incorporates Broadcom StrataXGS Trident III Switch silicon with 1Tbps switching capability. The AS5835 is an ideal Top-of-Rack switch for virtualized data centers with support for VXLAN and NVGRE tunneling functions in hardware; it also provides best-in-class load balancing and Software-Defined Forwarding. The switches are pre-loaded with Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) for automated loading of open source and compatible with Pica8 Inc and IP Infusion commercial NOS (More software options will be available soon).
