This is the second year that Edgecore Networks was selected as "Taiwan Excellence Award" winner, and the award-winning products have been reduced from 472 in 2019 to 418 this year, which enhance the quality and reliability of the award. The judges rewarded Edgecore products as one of the most innovative and outstanding products from more than 1,000 candidates and give Edgecore honored as industry leading indicators.
AS7316-26XB – Open Cell Site Gateway
AS7316-26XB is the world's first open cell site gateway, enable service providers to deploy 4G and 5G wireless services with the economies of disaggregated open network technology. The product is temperature hardened and optimized for deployment in outside plant enclosures and support base stations with full IEEE 1588 timing and GPS functions, provide backhaul uplinks at 25G or 100G Ethernet. Edgecore have contributed its design to the Open Compute Project (OCP) in conformance to the "Cell Site Gateway Router" specification which AT&T has contributed to the OCP Telco Project.
With the new mobile service and demands growing rapidly, mobile operators need to build new capacity for existing 4G infrastructures, while planning for the introduction of 5G services. Edgecore Networks provides cell site gateways for deployment at cell sites or as first aggregation points for multiple cell sites, and deep buffer switches for aggregation within the mobile backhaul network. AS7316-26XB is ideal for this high volume cell site and cell site aggregation infrastructure, while reduces operator costs, increases choice and quickens the pace of innovation.
OAP100 - Enterprise-grade Outdoor Access Point
OAP100 is an enterprise-grade, concurrent dual-band 802.11ac wave 2 outdoor access point, designed specifically to withstand harsh weather conditions by IP68 rated, rust-resistant plastic housing in outdoor and industrial environments. The OAP100 features 2x2:2 MU-MIMO radio that can each transmit data to multiple clients simultaneously, and together have a combined data rate of up to 1.2 Gbps. For built-in 2.4GHz and 5GHz antennas, there are two software-selectable options for different services.
OAP100's integration with Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) enables new value-added applications; besides, with a built-in GPS receiver, IT administrators can easily keep track of the location of all deployed OAP100s, simplifying the maintenance task and adding a new potential of location-related services. Meanwhile, OAP100 also supports Long Term Evolution (LTE) to receive network service, decreasing the deployment difficulties.
