Edgecore Networks introduces Gigabit Ethernet Access Switches with high-bandwidth 10G uplinks, designed for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Multiple System Operators (MSOs), and SMB/Enterprises Networks
Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 29, 2016 – Edgecore Networks, a leading provider of traditional and open network solutions for enterprises, data centers and telecommunication service providers, today announced the ECS4120 Layer 2+ Gigabit Ethernet Access Switches, which provide four high-bandwidth 10G SFP+ port uplinks with fiber connectivity options.
The ECS4120 Series Layer 2+ Gigabit Ethernet Access/Aggregation switches with 4 10G uplinks are designed and dedicated for ISPs and MSOs to provide home users with triple-play services with up to a Gigabit of bandwidth, as well as the ideal Gigabit access solution for SMB, enterprise, and campus networks. The product series is packed with features that bring high availability, comprehensive security, robust multicast control, and advanced QoS to the network edge, while maintaining simple management. The switches also support the most advance IPv6 management, IPv6 security, and IPv6 multicast control in accordance with the growth of IPv6 deployment. ISPs can expand their services from home to business users by providing a more reliable and resilient network (ITU-T G.8032 ERPS), L2 VPNs, and advanced OAM (Operations, administration, and Maintenance) functions to ensure service-level agreements.
The ECS4120 L2+ Gigabit Access Switch series, which comes with full layer 2 management functions, offers 4-port 10G uplinks to provide high uplink bandwidth. Enterprise and ISP users can select the 24-port GE plus 4 port 10G uplink, 48-port GE plus 4 port 10G uplink, or 20-port 1G SFP, 4-port GE Combo plus 4-port 10G uplink, depending on service requirements. The ECS4120-28T and ECS4120-52T are ideal for enterprise high-performance server applications, which accelerate the uplink connections to the server site. The ECS4120-28F switch with 20 1G SFP ports, includes advanced QoS features that are an ideal solution for upgrading Fiber to the Home (FTTH) to Gigabit access speed.
